One of the most important aspects of Clickbank affiliate success is choosing the right product. Spending a little time getting the correct product to promote is crucial. We need to get this right straight of the bat before we think about promotion and commission.
In this article I will choose a product, have a look at the data and then analyse how affiliates are promoting it. In this example we are going to promote a a product called Leptitox.
As you can see in the screenshot. Leptitox is in the Health/Fitness/Diet niche which is not a bad marketplace. It has a reasonable affiliate commission and has a very high gravity of 541. The gravity means there are a lots of affiliates promoting this product which is ideal for our research.
I wouldn’t normally promote a product with gravity this high due to the competition. I would normally promote anything with a gravity of 20-90 as a general ballpark figure.
Who is Making Money as a Clickbank Affiliate?
We need to uncover who the players are in this marketplace and what they are doing to generate Clickbank commission.
We want to take away any guesswork here. To accomplish this we are going to look on the paid ads for the Leptitox product on Google and Bing.
Two very different search engines, but I always include Bing because Google ads have some constraints and it’s important for us to see the full picture.
I am not inventing the wheel by sharing this methods. This information is out there for anyone to see, but it’s a strange trait in many people that we ignore the obvious.
We are blind to something that is right in front of us. Hopefully, after this article you will be a little bit wiser and it will have opened your eyes.

Our competition would prefer us not to discover these marketing systems and strategies. But because they are in the public eye we can see quite clearly what systems are working.

That is just a marketing strategy to get clicks and we can clearly see it’s hosted on a Free Google Blogspot website. Check it out here.
Click on the ad link and it takes you to a landing page provided in the affiliate material. If you click on any image on the landing page an affiliate link takes you to the main Leptitox website.
If the visitor buys the product you get a commission. A simple system using a free website and free content. Something you could setup in minutes.
2. Personal Review Clickbank Marketing System
Checking out another paid ad on Google for Leptitox we have one of the most powerful marketing methods you can use. Customers love personal reviews and they convert really well.

This concept marketing strategy works really well because people love to hear about real life stories.
So the visitor thinks if it worked for her, there is no reason why it wouldn’t work for me?
So they click to buy and it takes them to a different sales page that hosts a video. When they click on the buy it now button and order the affiliate receives the commission on the sale.
3. Promo Code Clickbank Marketing System
I have now moved over to the Bing search engine to research the paid ads for Leptitox.
The top paid ad is the official .com Leptitox website so we can ignore this, although it’s worth making a note of the sales copy they are using in the ad.
The problem for affiliates here is the official website is now competing directly against you for the clicks so how can you get the traffic?

People are always looking for the best price online. The consumer is very streetwise these days and know all about the promo code websites.
Personally, I don’t buy anything online until I have tried to find a promo code that gives me a discount for a particular service or product. Why pay full price when you get a percentage off?
In this case there are no extra promo codes because everyone gets the same discount on the sales page when you buy more than one. If you click through to the payment page and try and hit the back button they offer you another 15% off.
Nothing unique, it’s the same offer to everyone. It’s just a marketing strategy to get the click instead of your competition. But you can also use this promotional method to increase affiliate commission.

4. Ad Copy Clickbank Marketing Strategies
You have three crucial phases when using paid ads. You have to get the potential customer to click at least three times, in sequence, until you finally get your commission. This is not a straightforward thing to accomplish.

There is no point following the herd, you want your ad to be unique, to stand out and be able to convert.

On the inside is just a sales page promoting the product with a small review confirming (in your opinion) that it’s not a scam and you can’t recommend it enough!
Promo Codes: We have already shown you examples of this with fake promo code websites offering discounts that are offered anyway on the main sales page.
Country Official: If you are buying ads in specific countries you could say for example that your website is ‘UK Official’ and target the UK market. This could increase clicks from visitors who see your ad in the UK.
General Product Reviews: You maybe able to get these from the product affiliate material where you can show some testimonials from customers who have tried and liked the product.
Personal Product Reviews: Again we have shown examples of this where you have personally tried and tested the product yourself. You are now happy to promote it to others.
Discounts and Special Offers: These are also very common and just promote the special offers that are found on the main sales page plus the others that may pop-up if you try and exit the payment page without purchase. It’s just a last throw of the dice to try and make you a customer.
If your ad copy has convinced the visitor to click on your link then you have done a great job. All you need to do now is make sure the page they land on also convert as well.
We have discussed these strategies and earlier and shown examples. Some of the landing pages are provided in the product affiliate materials but others such as promo codes, personal reviews, scan alerts and general reviews you will need to do yourself.

The last click is the responsibility of the product owner and is totally out of your hands. This is their main sales page and hopefully their sales copy is of the highest quality to ensure it converts the visitor into a buyer.
